The Sum of Our Parts brought together artists exploring the body as a fluid, fragmented, and continually evolving entity. Presented across Swivel Gallery and its booth at NADA New York, the exhibition brought together works informed by cyberpunk, science fiction, eco-horror, post-humanism, and speculative visions of the body.
The exhibition questioned the idea of the body as a fixed physical and psychological whole, instead considering its permeability and relationship to external objects, technologies, environments, identities, and cultural narratives. Through fragmented, transformed, and hybrid forms, the participating artists challenged established ideas around gender, identity, and the boundaries between human and non-human.
Skuja Braden participated in the exhibition alongside Zoe Alameda, Gina Beavers, Amy Bravo, Dew Kim, Lionel Maunz, Jeffrey Meris, Agnes Questionmark, Derek Weisberg, and others. Their work contributed to the exhibition's exploration of the body as a site of transformation, hybridity, and multiplicity.
