Don’t Cry! was a major exhibition at the Latvian National Museum of Art in Riga, presenting feminist perspectives in Latvian art from the 1960s to the present. Bringing together works by almost 50 women artists, the exhibition explored themes including femininity, motherhood, reproductive rights, sexuality, relationships, emotional politics, creative freedom, women’s leadership, ecofeminism, and mythology.
Skuja Braden participated in the exhibition alongside artists from several generations, contributing to its examination of women’s experiences, identity, and representation in Latvian art. The exhibition included painting, graphic art, photography, installation, and video, and was accompanied by a bilingual catalogue featuring essays on feminist interpretations of Latvian art.
